Every month, from the two to three hundred wines I taste, I pick four that are my Best Buys selection: four delicious wines that I sell for less that $10 each that will taste like you paid more for them. The write-ups are my own, too. I tell you what I think of the wines, and what you can expect from them without any “wine speak” or confusing numerical ratings.  Buy the Four Pack and save 10%.

Certified Organic hailing from Williamette Valley, Oregon we bring you this luscious, yet crisp, medium to full body white blend. Rudy Marchesi, the owner and winemaker calls it the first Oregon “field blend.” Montinore Estate’s best cool climate blend of 45% Muller Thurgau, 24% Gewurztraminer, 18% Pinot Gris and 13% Riesling. Fresh nose of peach, green apple and pear. Lively acidity with a reasonable amount of ‘sweetness’ with flavors of pineapple, apple and peach in the mouth. Pair with shellfish, scallops, fish, pork, chicken, veggies, essentially whatever you want to serve tonight.

Pajot Cotes de Gascogne, by Domaine De Pajot
France > Southwest France

Grape: Blend

Size: .75L (75d)

Special Classification: organic

Year: 0

Store Code: 50627

Store Reviews
Awarded a much deserved Seal of Approval at the International Wine Challenge 2002 - this is fully organic and an absolute bargain white wine is crisp but suprisingly soft for a Gascogny white. Made from the four main regional varieties: Colombard, Ugni-Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gros-Manseng. All four grapes are complementary and balance each other well. This balance of different grapes enables the vines to grow in stages, making them more resistant to climatic conditions and diseases. Fresh, dry and fruity with lemon zest and crisp citrus flavors. The usual grapefruit aromas are present, but take more of a back seat, letting the apple and elderflower flavors come to the fore. A delight either on its own or with a wide variety of food.
